במסגרת הרפורמה בייבוא, שתחל ביום 1.6.2022, נדרש מינהל התקינה להגביר בקרה על מוצרים מיובאים לרבות בסיוע מעבדות אשר יבצעו בדיקות בהשמנת המינהל. מינהל התקינה מבקש להתקשר עם מעבדות הבדיקה, שהן מכון התקנים הישראלי ומעבדות עוספות שהוכרו ע"י הממונה על התקינה בהתאם לסעיף 2 לפקודת היבוא והיצוא (נוסח חדש), תשל"ט-1979ף לשם הסתייעות בביצוע בקרת משלוחים מיובאים בהתאם לסעיף 2טז1 לפקודה. סוגי הבקרות שיבוצעו הן:
