🇺🇬 Uganda · Government procurement

How to find and win government tenders in Uganda.

GPP (Government Procurement Portal), managed by Uganda's Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), is the official platform where procuring entities publish tender notices, manage bids, and disclose awards. This guide covers the full supplier journey from registration to contract.

Four steps to your first Uganda government contract.

1

Register as a supplier on GPP

Create an account at gpp.ppda.go.ug and complete the supplier registration process, providing business registration details, tax identification, and relevant certifications. PPDA manages supplier vetting.

2

Search and shortlist open tenders

Browse GPP by procurement method, category, or procuring entity. Notices cover goods, works, and services across central government and statutory bodies, with details on submission deadlines and bidding document fees.

3

Prepare and submit a compliant bid

Download bidding documents from GPP, meet all stated technical and financial requirements, and submit your offer through the portal before the deadline. Late submissions are rejected automatically.

4

Monitor awards and plan ahead

GPP publishes contract award notices. Reviewing awards helps you benchmark pricing and identify which government entities are actively buying in your sector.

🇺🇬 Live data

Search Uganda government tenders

GPP covers procurement by Uganda's central government ministries, local governments, and government-linked entities. The PPDA Act sets procurement method thresholds — open domestic bidding, open international bidding, restricted bidding, direct procurement, and micro procurement — and procuring entities must follow these based on contract value. Procurement plans are also published on GPP, giving suppliers advance visibility into upcoming needs.

Uganda's procurement framework welcomes international supplier participation on open international tenders. Domestic preference margins may apply for Ugandan firms on certain procurements, as specified in the bidding documents. Suppliers from any country must meet the qualification criteria and submit all required documentation in the format described in the tender notice.

With procurement activity spread across dozens of entities and multiple categories, manually tracking GPP can be time-consuming. Sell to State indexes Uganda's GPP data and provides plain-English search so you can find relevant tenders by keyword, buyer, or category. Save the search and turn on its alert: once a day, we email you the number of new open and awarded tenders that match it.
