# Sell to State agent skills

Agent skills are instructions that an AI agent loads when a task matches. The Sell to State skills follow the open SKILL.md format, so Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenClaw, Hermes and other agents can use them.

## What you can do

- Find tenders that accept bids, by keyword and country.
- Write a one-page brief on a public buyer.
- List the public contracts that a company won.
- Set up tender alerts or a polling job.
- Write code against the REST API with the right filters and error handling.

## Set up

1. **Install the skills.** In your project folder, run:

   ```
   npx skills add getbeton/selltostate-skills
   ```
2. **Give the agent access.** Connect the MCP server in your agent, or create an API key and set it in STS_API_KEY.

   ```
   export STS_API_KEY=sts_...
   ```
3. **Ask for a task.** Ask the agent for tenders, a buyer brief or a competitor's wins. The agent loads the matching skill.

- "Find open tenders for database support in Germany and Austria."
- "Brief me on Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust before a sales call."
- "Which public contracts did our competitor win in the UK last year?"

## Requirements

- A Sell to State account with an active plan. The tools return data only for an active plan.
- Data depth differs by country. The countries page shows what each country has.

## Questions

**Which agents can use the skills?** Any agent that reads SKILL.md files, for example Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenClaw and Hermes. The skills CLI installs them into the right folder for each agent.

**Where is the source?** In the public repository getbeton/selltostate-skills on GitHub, under the MIT license.

**Where does the data come from?** From official government procurement sources, for example Find a Tender and Contracts Finder (UK), TED (EU) and national portals. Each tender links to its official notice.
